The Bull Mastiff is considered a cross between the English Mastiff and Old English Bulldog. It is believed that the initial purpose for the creation of this breed was dealing with poachers. Today the breed is a common family pet provides companionship and entertainment for many families.
Male Bull Mastiff will usually grow to 25-27 inches tall at the withers and 110 to 140 pounds. Women tend to reach 24-26 cm in height and 100 to 120 pounds. Although smaller than some of the other mastiff breeds these dogs are very strong.

Bull Mastiff are very lovable, affectionate dogs, loyal, brave and calm with which they are familiar. Its protective instinct is very strong and it will defend its owners against anything or anyone think this is a threat. However, it is not normally attack to protect. Instead, he pulls down the intruder, striking with its massive size and strength, then hang them on the ground or floor. Another common act of protection is simply to stand before the foreigner / intruder and stubbornly refuse to allow them passage. Bull Mastiff tend to become very attached to their families and happier when they can live in the house with them. Another advantage of the Bull Mastiff is that they do not bark much, which makes good apartment dogs.
